In the Hortus, you walk from humid rainforests in the tropical greenhouse to the dry heat of the desert greenhouse. You will discover plants with fascinating stories, from coffee plants and cocoa to carnivorous plants and giant water lilies. One of the oldest inhabitants is the impressive Eastern Cape bread tree in the Palm Greenhouse. It is over 300 years old and one of the oldest potted plants in the world.
In the Hortus Botanicus, walk through the various themed gardens and greenhouses. Discover the medicinal herb garden, the bamboo forest, the butterfly greenhouse and the tropical greenhouse where you walk among palms and ferns as if you were in a jungle.
