For five days, majestic Tall Ships, historic sailing ships and modern boats glide through the channel of the North Sea Canal, IJ Harbour and NDSM Wharf. More than 800 ships bring a unique mix of tradition, culture and maritime experience, while more than 2.3 million visitors gather along the quays and on the water.
Concentrate your visit on three main areas: Java Island, the IJ Harbour and the NDSM Wharf. Start on Java in the morning, cross over to NDSM in the afternoon for peace and culture, and end at the IJ Harbour for evening concerts and fireworks. Ferry connections and tram stops around Central Station, Piet Heinkade and NDSM make smart planning easy. Want to experience SAIL from the water?
